The Getaway
Nash Yarn Fest Getaway: March 14-18
This is something we’ve never offered before: a complete MDK experience in Nashville.
We are working with Patti Odinak of Yarn Culture, a veteran tour organizer who has curated marvelous trips to Europe for knitters and crocheters.
The Experience
Join us for a fun-filled long weekend in Nashville, one of the hottest destinations in the country—and the home of Modern Daily Knitting.
Your home for four nights will be the Bobby Hotel, a vibrant boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Nashville.
Kick off the weekend with a private welcome reception on the opening night of Nash Yarn Fest at the Fairgrounds Nashville. You'll meet fellow travelers, co-founders Ann Shayne and Kay Gardiner, and get a first look at the beautiful offerings from the 80+ vendors who have come from 25 states. Enjoy a relaxed evening, meeting the makers and mingling in the festival's opening night atmosphere.
Saturday is festival day! Experience a day at Nash Yarn Fest full of talks, demos, and fun on the main stage, plus food trucks, furry animal friends, and more. No need to worry about transport — we’ve got you covered with a private coach to and from the festival, plus a midday return to the hotel if your knitting bags fill up early. If you’re still energized, unwind with a low-key afterparty at MDK HQ, just minutes from the fairgrounds. After the festival, relax at the Bobby Hotel or explore Nashville’s vibrant dining scene at one of the many great restaurants in the area.
Sunday is for exploring Nashville! Start the day with a guided driving tour of the city, covering landmarks like historic downtown, Fort Nashborough, the Parthenon, Music Row, and the Ryman Auditorium. End the tour at the Country Music Hall of Fame for a self-guided visit. The afternoon is yours to further explore the city or join one of the optional activities we’ve arranged to make the most of your time. Before you head out to dinner, meet us up on the Bobby Rooftop to enjoy the view and a cocktail and snack before you head out for a night on the town
On Monday, enjoy a private workshop at MDK HQ where you'll experience a morning of hands-on knitting fun. We'll follow that with an amazing lunch at one of Ann's (and New York Times!) favorite restaurants! Feel free to explore or join another optional tour before wrapping up the day with dinner on your own or with new friends!
We hope this weekend will be filled with knitting, fun, and new friendships — saying “see you soon” rather than goodbye!

Travel Insurance
As we all know, sometimes the best laid plans can be interrupted by unexpected events. This is why we strongly encourage travelers to purchase trip insurance.
Neither Modern Daily Knitting or Yarn Culture are travel agents and cannot provide the same coverage available through travel insurance. All refunds or travel coverage due to sickness or other unforeseen circumstances can only be provided by self-procured travel insurance.
Health Policy and Guideline
We always hope that everyone will stay healthy on our trips. However it can happen that someone contracts a virus that not only makes them feel poorly but may also be contagious to fellow travelers. With this in mind, we count on travelers to take responsibility for their own health.
